27 DAYS TO GO!
Northwest Regional North Carolina Science Fair

About Our Fair

The Northwest Region 7 NCSEF is located at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina at the Reich College of Education Building. Due to the winter weather this fair is held in December with snow makeup dates in December and January if needed.

Registration: This year registration for this event is online. Complete registration on this site by using the side tab to register. To complete the online registration, you will submit all forms by December 7, and print the signature page. Mail the fee - $10 / project as instructed below, by Dec 7. Once your forms have been reviewed, you will receive an email if other forms are needed or if the project is approved. This is separate from the confirmation of the form upload email. Board Check in: Boards can be checked in on Monday, Dec 17th, between 4pm and 9pm, OR Tuesday morning, December 18th between 7:30am and 9:30am. (Note – some county directors and teachers prefer to check in boards for all of their students on Monday evening, thus alleviating the need for early morning checkin by their students).
Fees: Payment for registration must be mailed by Dec. 7th to Jeff Jaynes at Avery County Schools, 775 Cranberry Street, Newland, NC, 28657. Registration fee is $10 per project. (Note: Participants will be on their own for lunch; registration fee does not include lunch.)
Weather Issues: In the event of inclement weather, please check this website, the NCSEF website (http://www.ncsciencefair.org), and/or the Avery County Schools homepage (http://www.averyschools.net) for any announcement of postponement. The snow make-up day for this year's fair is December 20, 2018.
